  1. Be a Readder To Be Able To Write!
I am a Sophomore at Kinnaird College with Int Relations as my majors. Having seen this blog, i was instantly intrigued and I felt that my contribution should be of some help to the students...

To understand the art of writing one has to be a reader. When one reads a certain piece of writing, one discovers 'better ways of writing'; vocabulary enhances, and one's expression keeps getting better. In short, one can not be a writer without being a reader in the first place.

    The Problem With Reading!
There is one biggest problem with the act of reading: it requires loads and loads of patience...
For those who feel like they would pass out reading a book and just can not take the agony of reading a book, here's a tip. Be a forward thinker! We always like people, accept it or not, who are calm, composed, decent, intelligent, witty, well spoken, knowledgeable and COOL. Reading will do this for you. If you are impatient and are convinced that reading is not your thing and a job of nerds, then you are an all the more legible candidate to learn the art of reading. With reading you will see many wonders of character change in you and personality development that you never experienced before in life.
You need not think that you would become any less hip and outgoing in the eyes of your peers.:) you can develop a bed side book reading habit and need not tell any body that you have begun to read... You can afford not to be famous as a reader but can not afford 'not reading. '
We idealise the west a  lot and try to copy them too but the thing we need to learn from them is that they read profusely... You will hardly ever find a person on the road sitting idle and not  reading.

One of the reasons we are so inferior a nation in the sight of the world is that we do not read and therefore we do not think for our own selves. We jump on what others want us to think instead of developing our own very strong thinking patterns...the world does not respect us because our nation lacks the ability of an individual thinking. To develop this habit, we must read. Reading would open up a wonder world for you that you have never imagined to be yours before.

Another tip is that read a book which is of your interest. You don't have to read a book that is too difficult or too boring for you. As you read, you will see that your speed and ability to understand difficult words and ideas would improve...u will have to keep a dictionary with  you initially and look up upto may be 10 words in a line. Slowly it will reduce to 6, then 5, and a ti e will come when you would just feel that two words you need to look up about two in a line. This improvement is important to make you excel in studies, spoken abilities, intelligence and enhance as a person.

    The idea is:
Pick up a book today, start reading from the first page and the first word. Try to understand it as much as you can. If you fail to make sense outa' it, you can reread that part, or just move on. The aim is to get an idea of the book, even if you can not deeply make out each word of it.  Read and read. Once you get hooked on to it, honestly enough, you will love the reading feat and would never want to waste a single moment without a good book in your hand.
And this act grows as you grow. And it develops slowly,  and is not acquired in a single night...so dun worry if you read slower than your 'counterparts', you will do just fine, just don't fret...it will all be okay...if you read and try your best to stretch the limited mental parameters.

  3. Hey guys here's the book review of my book enjoy reading

    Book Review- "Treasure Island"

    Author: Robert Louis Stevenson
    Length: 223 pages
    Publisher: Orion group
    Genre: Fiction
    Language: English
    Place of Publication: London
This story was about a boy called Jim who set sails for ‘Treasure Island’ where he faced many obstacles in his path. Ultimately, he surmounted all the difficulties including the battles against pirates to seize the treasure before returning to Bristol.
Adventure and exploration were the most important themes of the novel. Immorality, greed and criminal mindset have also been depicted in the novel on the part of pirates.
Jim Hawkins was a young boy who lived at his parents’ inn. An old sea captain named Billy Bones died in the inn after he had been presented with a black spot, or official pirate verdict of guilt or judgment. Jim was stirred to action by the spot and its mysterious, accurate portent of Billy’s death. Jim and his mother unlocked Billy’s sea chest to have found a logbook and map inside. They left with the documents before Billy’s pursuers ransacked the inn.
Jim took one of the documents he had found to some local acquaintances, Dr. Livesey and Squire Trelawney. They recognized it as a map for a huge treasure that the infamous pirate Captain Flint had buried on a distant island. Trelawney immediately started planning an expedition. Trelawney was tricked into hiring one of Flint’s former mates, Long John Silver, and many of Flint’s crew. Only the captain, Smollett, proved to be trustworthy. The ship then set sails for ‘Treasure Island’. Jim having learnt about Silver’s nefarious designs for mutiny, told the captain about Silver and the rest of the rebellious crew.
Having landed at the island, Captain Smollett devised a plan to get most of the mutineers off the ship. Jim escaped the ship and followed the pirates. Jim fled deeper into the heart of the island, where he encountered a half-crazed man named Ben Gunn. Ben had once served in Flint’s crew but was marooned on the island years earlier.
Smollett and his men had gone ashore and taken shelter in a stockade. Jim returned to the stockad and brought Ben with him. The pirates attacked the stockade and the captain was wounded. Jim sneaked off to hunt for Ben’s handmade boat hidden in the woods.
After finding Ben’s boat, Jim sailed out to the anchored ship. Jim returned to the stockade but found it occupied by the pirates. Silver took Jim hostage, Jim realized that Silver was having trouble managing his men, who accused him of treachery. Silver proposed to Jim that they could help each other survive by pretending Jim was a hostage. The men presented Silver with a black spot and informed him that he had been deposed as their commander.
Silver showed them the treasure map to appease them. Silver led Jim and the men to the treasure site, but they were shocked to find that it already had been excavated and the treasure removed. The men were angered and near mutiny again. Dr. Livesey, Ben Gunn, and the others fired on the pirate band, which scattered throughout the island. Jim and Silver fled again, and were guided by the others to Ben’s cave, where Ben had hidden the treasure.
The men then prepared to set sail for home. The remaining pirates were left marooned on the island. Silver was allowed to join the voyage, but he sneaked off the ship one night with a portion of the treasure and was never heard from again. The voyage home came to a close. Captain Smollet retired from the sea, and Ben became a lodge-keeper. Jim also swore off treasure-hunting forever

  4. This is the bookreview of my other book

    Book Review-"Three Cups of Tea"

Author: Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin
    Length: 208 Pages
    Publisher: Penguin Group
    Genre: Non-fiction
    Language: English
    Place of Publication: New York

This book tells the story of how one American climber in the Karakoram Mountains, has made a difference in a remote and very poor area. We learn the real details of how the poor Muslims live - especially those in the mountains. How they are usually neglected by their governments. We learn that they are simple people, with families, children, and desires. They are not terrorists.
The author tries to tell us about the devastating lives of the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan and about their lack of education. Compassion is one of the most prevalent themes, Greg believes in helping those who helped him. Overcoming cultural differences is also the theme of the novel, as Mortenson becomes more engaged in humanitarian projects, he build bridges between cultures and learn about them and respect them.
Greg Mortenson was born in Minnesota in 1957, but from 1958 to 1973 he lived in Tanzania, where his father, Irvin “Dempsey” Mortenson, helped found the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center, and his mother, Jerene Mortenson, started the International School Moshi. Greg joined the U.S. Army in 1977 and served two years in Germany, after which he began college. In 1983, he graduated from the University of South Dakota with an Associate Degree in Nursing and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. In 1993, to honor the memory of his recently deceased sister, he decided to climb Pakistan’s K2, the world’s second highest mountain. He lost his chance to reach the summit when he helped to rescue another climber and bring him down the mountain to safety. After a difficult descent that left Mortenson weak and exhausted, he was taken in and cared for by the local people of a tiny village called Korphe. During his recovery, Mortenson saw a group of children writing in the dirt with sticks. He promised that he would return and help build them a school.
Mortenson’s promise to build this single school ultimately led to the creation of the Central Asia Institute (CAI), which has helped to construct and staff dozens of schools across rural Pakistan. Mortenson’s early efforts to raise funds for the school in Korphe were unsuccessful, but they brought Mortenson to the attention of Dr. Jean Hoerni, a wealthy, accomplished scientist and fellow mountain climber who provided Mortenson with the money he needed. The two men eventually co-founded the CAI, which, under Mortenson’s guidance, began the work of educating Pakistani children. The CAI placed a particular emphasis on schooling girls.
When Mortenson’s story began in 1993, few Americans were aware of the political situations in Pakistan and neighboring Afghanistan. That lack of awareness changed dramatically, after the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001 and the subsequent U.S. invasion of Afghanistan.

  6. Global dignity day hisham 8-yellow
each citizen living in this world has their rights and deserves respect. Dignity means the state or quality of being worthy of honour and respect, or human rights.
In my opinion, every citizen in this world should celebrate this day to make themselves and others realise their rights and those of others. So give respect to the rights and freedom of others and get respect from others. Every person, no matter which economic class they belong to, deserves respect if they are doing honest work.

So my dear readers and friends, I would like to request you to be respectful towards everyone, even if they are your maid, driver, cleaner or watchman or the junior staff of the school. They are humans like us and have as much rights as citizens of this world as we do; they deserve all the facilities of health, education, security and income as we and others do.
